BETA trade missions secure extra funding
The British Equestrian Trade Association has secured additional funding from UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) to subsidise its extensive programme of trade missions to key shows throughout the world. This includes an increase in the grant level for those wishing to visit the China Horse Fair, in Beijing, from 16 to 18 October 2012.
Eligible companies planning to exhibit at this show can now claim £1,800 for allowable expenses, rather than the previous sum of £1,400. Extra funding has also enabled BETA-led trade missions to the Dubai International Horse Fair on 21 March 2013 (grant: £1,400), Equitana in Essen, Germany, on 16 March 2013 (grant: £1,000) and Spoga Horse Autumn, Cologne (grant: £1,000).
“We are extremely pleased to receive this additional funding to help companies develop their export markets,” said BETA executive director Claire Williams. “Those that exhibit as part of a BETA group benefit from the trade association’s vast experience of international trade shows, logistical support and export advice. We will be attending the China Horse Fair to help co-ordinate the British group and assist them in identifying a niche in this emerging market. There is huge potential for companies wishing to break into it, but it is vital that they start now.”
Places in the trade missions are open to both BETA members and non-BETA members, but limited availability means that potential participants should register their interest as soon as possible. BETA is a UK Trade and Investment-approved organisation providing export funding for eligible member and non-member companies of any size, whether a manufacturer, distributor or retailer.
