BETA rewards riders who work hard for sponsors
Nov 3 2009
The British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) wants to reward the rider who works hardest for his or her sponsors.
The winner will receive the TSM Rider Award, one of a series of 2010 BETA Business Awards to be presented at the BETA Gala Dinner in February.
With former winners including Ellen Whitaker, Matt Ryan, Tim Stockdale and Mary King, the accolade will go to a rider who has genuinely made a difference by forging a productive partnership with his or her commercial backers.
Nominations are invited from companies who believe their sponsored riders deserve consideration for the TSM Rider Award.
"The best sponsorships work equally well for both rider and sponsor," said Tim Smith, managing director of leading marketing and PR agency TSM.
"The TSM Rider Award was created to recognise riders who work closely with their sponsors, perhaps by taking a personal interest in product development, giving of their time to support promotional activities and really becoming part of a company’s team."
The TSM Rider Award is open to riders in every equestrian discipline and from international to local level.
"BETA is delighted to offer this prestigious award that acknowledges how effective sponsorship goes beyond the relationship between rider and sponsor by benefiting the wider equestrian industry," said BETA’s executive director Claire Williams.
Nominations for the TSM Rider Award close on 15 January after which a short-list will be drawn up with the final decision being reached by an independent panel.
Rider nominations should be emailed to tinar@beta-int.com or posted to TSM Rider Award Nominations, BETA, East Wing, Stockeld Park, Wetherby, LS22 4AW. As well as providing the rider’s name and contact details, please add a brief explanation as to why you feel he or she deserves to win. Supporting press cuttings and competition results can be included.
