BETA backs International Helmet Awareness Day
The British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) has announced its support for International Helmet Awareness Day – an annual initiative that seeks to highlight the importance of correctly fitted and up-to-standard safety headwear for riders – on 9 June.
“International Helmet Awareness Day’s aims and objectives are very much in line with those of BETA and we are pleased to offer our full backing,” said the trade association’s executive director, Claire Williams.
“Rider safety sits at the very heart of our organisation and, for many years, BETA has worked with key members of the equestrian industry to develop standards and train retailers to fit garments such as hats and body protectors.”
Advice and information on hat fitting – or general safetywear – can be found on the BETA website, www.beta-uk.org, or by telephoning the BETA office on +44 (0)1937 587062.
Note to editors:
International Helmet Awareness Day is organised and hosted by Riders4Helmets. It aims to educate equestrians on the benefits of wearing a properly fitting, secured and up-to-standard hat or helmet. Manufacturers, top riders, hat testing agencies, neuro physiotherapists and brain injury and concussion experts are some of those taking part in the awareness-raising initiative. Many equestrian retailers will be taking part in the day, offering discounted hats and helmets, as well as organising educational events in-store.
Riders4Helmets will be streaming live ‘Get Educated’ seminars at Riders4Helmets.com on the day. Viewers will be able to ask experts questions in real time.
